Poshmark Inactive Listings Update: All You Need to Know!

Poshmark Inactive Listings Update

Selling on Poshmark just got a bit more interesting. The recent Poshmark inactive listings update is changing how poshers find your items on the marketplace.

Poshmark now handles inactive listings differently than before, and it’s directly impacting your Poshmark listings and sales.

If you haven’t logged in lately, your Poshmark listings might not appear in search results. Poshmark wants to ensure buyers only see items from active sellers.

This inactive listing update will help poshers find what they need without hitting dead ends. However, it means Poshmark sellers need to stay active to keep their sales running.

In this post, we’ll break down everything you need to know about the Poshmark inactive listings update. Moreover, we will explain how you can reactivate inactive Poshmark listings.

What are Inactive Listings on Poshmark?

Inactive listings are items in your Poshmark closet that haven’t seen any activity in the last 60 days.

If you haven’t received offers or comments on your listings, or you haven’t bundled or edited listings in 60 days, then Poshmark will likely flag them as “inactive.”

Inactive Listings on Poshmark Notification

When life gets busy, it’s easy to forget about an item you donated or sold on another marketplace. By highlighting inactive listings, Poshmark asks sellers to confirm that the item is still available for sale.

For Poshmark sellers, this is the perfect opportunity to breathe new life into their inactive listings.

When you notice an inactive listing in your Poshmark closet, you can quickly reactivate it to show the Poshmark algorithm that it’s still for sale.

Why Poshmark Introduced Inactive Listings Feature

To Reduce Order Cancellations

Nothing frustrates a buyer more than finding the perfect item, paying for it, and then having the order canceled because either the item is not available or the seller hasn’t logged in for months.

By flagging listings that haven’t been touched in 60 days as inactive, Poshmark forces sellers to confirm they still have the item. This helps in reducing “inactive” listings while also preventing order cancellations.

To Declutter Poshmark Search Results and Prioritize Active Listings

A marketplace cluttered with inactive listings frustrates buyers and hurts sales conversions. Poshmark introduced the new inactive listings feature to automatically deprioritize inactive listings in search results and feeds, effectively burying them beneath new and active listings.

By shifting the spotlight exclusively toward active listings, Poshmark ensures that buyers only see available items. This optimization makes the shopping experience better while keeping buyers engaged on the app, and driving higher conversion rates for serious sellers.

To Provide a Loophole for the “Excessive Listing Removal Policy”

Sellers who crosslist items on multiple marketplaces often face a frustrating catch-22 due to Poshmark’s Excessive Listing Removal Policy, which penalizes accounts that delete too many items in a short window.

The new inactive listings feature solves this by creating an official loophole. Poshmark explicitly states that deleting an item flagged under the inactive status will not count against the Excessive Listing Removal Policy.

This provides a safe environment for Poshmark sellers to get rid of old items without risking any penalties.

How Will I Know If My Poshmark Listing Becomes Inactive?

Poshmark ensures you won’t be kept in the dark when a listing gets inactive. You will know your Poshmark listing has become inactive through an in-app notification or an email.

Moreover, when you go to “Seller Tools” within the Poshmark app, you’ll see the “Bulk Activate Listings” tab  on the menu, where you’ll find all the inactive listings in your Poshmark closet.

How to Find Inactive Listings is Your Poshmark Closet?

The best way to find inactive listings in your Poshmark closet is to go to “Seller Tools” within the Poshmark app.

There you’ll see the “Activate Listings” tab under the Bulk Action section, that’s where you’ll find all the inactive listings in your Poshmark closet.

How Can I Reactivate an Inactive Listing on Poshmark?

To reactivate an inactive listing on Poshmark, go to your profile in the Poshmark app and navigate to Seller Tools > Reactivate Listings.

This dedicated dashboard allows you to review your inactive listings in one convenient place.

Carefully go through the displayed listings and choose to reactivate items that are still available, which immediately restores their visibility in buyer search results.

If you come across unavailable items, remember to delete listings you no longer have to keep your Poshmark closet accurate.

Does Removing Inactive Listings Affect Poshmark’s Excessive Listing Removal Policy?

Removing inactive listings does not affect or violate Poshmark’s excessive listing removal policy.

Poshmark explicitly stated that deleting items flagged by the “Inactive Listings” tool will not count against your account or trigger penalties under the excessive listing removal policy.

The excessive listing removal policy is designed to stop Poshmark sellers from constantly deleting and relisting active items within a rolling 60-day window to manipulate the Poshmark algorithm.

Because inactive listings are already categorized by Poshmark as stagnant, they can be safely removed without risking the warnings, restrictions, or temporary account suspensions associated with excessive listing removal policy.

Will Inactive Listings Hurt My Poshmark Sales?

Yes, inactive listings will hurt your Poshmark sales by significantly reducing your closet’s overall visibility.

When a listing becomes inactive after 60 days of no engagement, Poshmark lowers its placement in search results.

Because Poshmark buyers rarely scroll past the first few pages, these inactive listings stop getting views, likes, and offers.

Moreover, having a Poshmark closet clogged with inactive listings negatively impacts your algorithmic standing.

Poshmark rewards highly active sellers who frequently share, edit, and list items. If a large percentage of your listings is flagged as inactive, the Poshmark algorithm perceives your closet as abandoned, depressing your overall search ranking.

When Will the Inactive Listings Feature Roll Out?

Poshmark officially launched the Inactive Listings feature in April 2026. The platform announced the update early in the month, stating it would roll out gradually to all users.

By May 2026, the feature will be fully deployed across the marketplace. Many sellers have already begun receiving emails, notifications, and app banners flagging items without activity for 60 days.
